About Blaine High School
Blaine High School has been around since 1972 as a result of the Blaine Project. Located in Blaine, Minnesota, this public high school is part of the Anoka-Hennepin School District 11. Every day, countless students are provided with knowledge and skills that will prepare them for their future endeavors. The school offers a wide range of courses from English and math to sciences and social studies which enables the students to make well-informed decisions when selecting the classes which best suits their learning type and career path. Blaine High School also provides support to ensure student's academic growth and development each quarter, in addition to its extracurricular activities that help foster student camaraderie and team spirit amongst its students.

Demographics of Blaine High School
According to reports from the 2016-17 school year, a large and diverse student population from kindergarten to grade twelve is enrolled in this school. On an FTE basis, there were 2,972 students in total with 132.25 classroom teachers. This yields a student-teacher ratio of 22.47:1 which allows for increased individualized instruction for students. Another important indicator of school diversity are the number of students eligible for free or reduced-cost lunch programs; 17.9% of all enrollees qualify for free lunch while 8.5% qualify for reduced-cost lunch programs. This information highlights the importance of fostering equity in our educational institutions and supports the need for continued investment in our schools’ resources and staff.
Academics of Blaine High School
Blaine High School is proud to offer students the opportunity to earn college credits through its participation in the University of Minnesota's College in the Schools program. This unique program allows motivated students to easily transition into college and complete college coursework described by university faculty while still in high school. By earning these credits, students can save on tuition costs, gain an academic edge when applying for college, and even potentially complete their higher education faster. Blaine High School strives to make sure all students have access to rigorous college-level courses that will help them reach their academic goals.
Athletics of Blaine High School
Blaine High School has had a history of excellence in many sports programs. With three Mr. Hockey Award winners, two of whom were NHL players, it is no wonder that the boys hockey team was able to win the Minnesota high school boys hockey class AA championship in 2000. The football team has certainly seen success as well, making it to the state tournament an impressive 14 times and most notably in 2008 where the team was victorious against Eden Prairie--third nationally ranked among all high schools at the time--before reaching the state championship game. Even further back, Blaine High School's Girls Nordic Skiing Team won the 1979 state championship. All these accomplishments prove that Blaine has a proud sporting tradition with many feats and successes to revel in throughout its history.
